2018 Brockenhurst Needlework Fiesta

Saturday 21st April, 10am to 5pm

Sunday 22nd April, 10am to 3.30pm

A BIG THANK YOU!

Hopefully you were able to join us in which case you'll know that the 2017 Brockenhurst Needlework Fiesta was a fantastic success.

We had more than 1,250 visitors over the two days (some making the journey from more than 100 miles away) and a colourful array of traders and exhibitors, to say nothing of the WI's cakes of epic proportion!

As you may know, the Fiesta is a not-for-profit event raising much needed funds for the benefit of the local community and textile groups.  We are delighted to say that following this year's event we have been able to make donations totalling almost £4,000 so please accept our heartfelt thanks for helping to raise this amount.

Tell us what you thought of the 2017 Fiesta

We'd love to know what you thought about this year's event and are considering developing a brief survey to help gather views and ideas as to how we can improve the Fiesta, but in the meantime we'd be very grateful for your feedback by email to  This email address is being protected from spambots. Looking Ahead to Next Year

The 2018 Brockenhurst Needlework Fiesta is on Saturday 21st April 2018 (10am - 5pm) and Sunday 22nd April 2018 (10am - 3.30pm).

Mailing List Prize Draw

Many thanks to those who entered our email mailing list prize draw to win a copy of Maggie Grey's fantastic book, "Long Diaries, Tall Tales".

Our winner was Mrs Toni Brannon from Gosport in Hampshire who told us:

"Other half and I enjoyed our visit.  I bought some home spun yarn and a kit for making a thimble cover.  My husband also bought some French buttons with animals on which have now been sewn onto a Harris tweed waistcoat that my niece is making for my husband and they look great.  Winning the book is an added bonus that is much appreciated".

It's nearly here!  The 2017 Needlework Fiesta is this coming weekend...

...and there's so much to look forward to, not least the weather which is set to be dry with sunny spells - so why not treat yourself to a Spring day or weekend visit to the beautiful New Forest?

How to get here:

There's plentiful free parking at Brockenhurst Village Hall (Sat Nav Post Code SO42 7RY) but we're also just a short walk from Brockenhurst Railway Station (Weymouth to Waterloo plus services to/from Lymington).

Alternatively the BlueStar No. 6 bus route (Southampton - Totton - Lyndhurst - Lymington) runs down Sway Road which is less than 2 minutes walk from the Hall.

What to bring:

The event is all undercover in four large rooms within Brockenhurst Village Hall so (unless something goes badly wrong!) once you're inside you should have no need of a coat or protection from the elements.

The WI will be at the event selling hot and cold drinks and a range of light refreshments including a fabulous selection of home made cakes, but  if you're spending the day in Brockenhurst and haven't brought your picnic rug and sandwiches then you may wish to visit one of the many cafes, pubs and restaurants nearby.  You can find out more about  Brockenhurst and the surrounding area at www.visitbrockenhurst.co.uk.

Many of our traders are equipped to take debit and credit card payments but it would be advisable to bring some cash including for your entry ticket (£3 payable on the door) and the WI's irresistible cakes!  There are two cash machines in the Village - one in Brookley Road (the main shopping street) where you can also get Cash Back on purchases from Sainsbury's and Tesco and another on the Lyndhurst Road at the Premier Convenience Store.

Looking forward to seeing you at the weekend :-)

The Brockenhurst Needlework Fiesta Committee, 19th April 2017

With a little over 8 weeks to go we are pleased to announce...

...that the final list of traders and exhibitors / demonstrators is now live on our website - and what a fantastic list it is!

Whatever your textile pleasure, we're sure you'll find much to enthral you at this year's event.  We are also delighted to confirm that the WI will once again be  selling hot and cold drinks and a range of light refreshments including their fabulous selection of home made cakes.

As ever, we would be very grateful for your help in spreading the word about the Fiesta in whatever way you can, so please do persuade friends and family to come along for what promises to be a wonderful event.  Even if textiles aren't their thing, the New Forest is absolutely beautiful in the Spring so why not make a day or a weekend of it?  You can find out more about visiting Brockenhurst and the surrounding area by visiting www.visitbrockenhurst.co.uk

The Brockenhurst Needlework Fiesta Committee, 23rd February 2017

Only 11 weeks to go and the Committee is in full swing getting everything organised ahead of this year's event.

As ever we have a fabulous line-up of traders and exhibitors amongst whom we are delighted to welcome Lesley De Gruchy from Beach Hut 'n' Boats with her range of beautifully designed and handmade soft furnishing textiles for the home.

That said, the Fiesta wouldn't be the fantastic event that this is without you:

We need your help to spread the word in whatever way you can.

If you've been here before, you may have noticed that things have changed a bit around here.  We hope you like what you see.

Major events of any kind always make you take stock and with the very sad passing of our previous webmaster, we thought it was time to 'freshen-up' the website as he had planned to do.

The purpose of our website remains the same: to publicise Brockenhurst Needlework Fiesta and (hopefully!) encourage you to visit us, but by refreshing the design and content we also hope to make it easier and more enjoyable for you to find the information you need to get the most out of your visit.  We also plan to make it easier for you to get to know and to get in touch with the traders and exhibitors / demonstrators participating in the event so will be adding their details shortly.

As always, we welcome all of your comments - both positive and negative - and suggestions on what you'd like to see at the Fiesta and on our website so please do get in touch via our Contact Us page.

Finally, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of our visitors, traders and exhibitors / demonstrators for your support of Brockenhurst Needlework Fiesta - many thousands of pounds have been raised for charity and grants made to local textile groups - we couldn't do it without you!
